Ikariam is a mmo web game, developed by the company Gameforge, which requires free registration (also it has premium accounts and the possibility of injecting funds through the payment system). We will take control of our capital, situated on an island (random). With little infrastructure and very few people, we must put to work to farmers, to generate resources and build buildings as a port (for trade), the barracks (soldiers), stores … For each island, there is only one luxurious resource (marble, wine, crystal and sulfur) that can be exploited (wood is provided), so to get the rest we must buy, trade, or steal from others … or develop colonies on other islands. This is one of the difficult points of the game, because even a capable logistics to generate interesting amounts of these four types of resources will go a long. Must also bear in mind that the island is not alone, sharing with others … that may attack without great expense and little time, reduce our ability to respond. Investigate technologies, weapons, new buildings and artifacts, diplomacy and alliances …. other actions are possible within this virtual world.

The graphic are really good. Illustrations, backgrounds, icons … usability could be improved .. but the overall environment is very attractive. It also has a very active forum, but as usual in such cases requires a separate registration. Regarding the gameplay, a certain level is achieved faster than in other titles of similar theme, although the characteristics mentioned above. On the other hand, involves allocating more time to grow the game, but we believe it is minor in comparison with others.
